Congratulations to our September Aide of the Month, Tiffany Perry! Tiffany received her Certified Home Health Aide training from LTC Career Training and has been a CHHA with Family & Children’s Service (FCS) since May 2019. Prior to working as a CHHA, Tiffany worked as a teacher’s assistant and explained that her love of helping others is what lead her to become a CHHA.

All CHHAs must successfully complete 76 hours of specialized training, pass a competency evaluation and undergo a criminal background check before becoming certified and licensed by the New Jersey Board of Nursing. CHHAs work under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse and must undergo training in personal care skills, including bathing, dressing, shopping, meal preparation, Range of Motion assistance and a variety of other tasks.

Tiffany was selected to be Aide of the Month for her outstanding commitment to the agency and the clients she serves. Tiffany says the qualities it takes to be a good aide are dependability, loyalty and the ability to be a good listener.

A typical day for Tiffany includes helping her clients with bed baths, housekeeping, meal prep, and medication reminders. In addition to these duties, she has a client who looks forward to spending time together watching a TV show. “When I finish doing my duties, she records Let’s Make a Deal for us to watch.” Tiffany said smiling, “She records it every day that I come to help her.”

The compassionate care that Tiffany gives makes a difference in the lives of more than just her clients. “I have one client whose daughter really appreciates me being there.” Tiffany said. “It kind of gives her relief and a peace of mind.”

Congratulations Tiffany and thank you for your hard work and dedication to your clients!
