JOB TITLE
Development Associate – Full Time

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Director of Development

SUMMARY

Supports the Director of Development in managing all FCS fundraising, marketing, public relations, and communications efforts.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with donor management software, entering all gifts and donor information into the data base.
  • Stays current on donor software changes and functions.
  • Prepares and generates all acknowledgment letters with IRS tax-deductibility information.
  • Maintains and generates project specific donor and prospect mailing lists, ensuring information is accurate and current.
  • Coordinates mailing stuffing and labeling projects with volunteer groups.
  • Coordinates non-profit rate mailings with Post Office bulk mail facility.
  • Assists in the development and ordering of printed materials.
  • Assists in copy editing and proofing of all printed materials and grant applications.
  • Assists in the development of the annual Gala journal.
  • Coordinates and attends volunteer committee meetings and provides support for volunteer-driven projects and events.
  • Provides support for and attends all fundraising and friendraising events.
  • Assists in event preparation, set-up, and dismantling.
  • Responsible for all fundraising-related PR and marketing, including social media, e-newsletters, press releases, media alerts, and media relations, as well as some agency program and service promotion and marketing.
  • Helps troubleshoot events and projects.
  • Works with mobile auction and ticketing platform and stays current on platform changes and functions.
  • Interacts with Board members and agency directors as needed.
  • Represents the agency at outside functions as needed.
  • Helps develop the annual Spring, Fall and Board Appeals
  • Maintains hard copy files and records as needed.
  • Assists with documenting meetings.
  • Assists in coordinating the design and production of marketing and fundraising materials, including invites, appeals, flyers, brochures, and the annual report.
  • Assists in developing and updating website content and creating fundraising campaigns on mobile platforms such as GiveSmart.
  • Work collaboratively with social media consultant to generate and promote content to all @fcsmonmouth social media channels
  • Assist in managing all @fcsmonmouth social media channels as FCS admin for the organization
  • Assist in generating regular public relations stories, pitches, press releases and e-newsletters.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPSCollaborates with Director of Development, CEO, program directors, auxiliary, and other volunteer groups. Develops and maintains media and community relations.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office and field environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The work requires standing, bending, speaking, and manual dexterity and near visual acuity, and the ability to drive a motor vehicle. Seeing, smelling, repetitive motion and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds at a time are required for this position.

BACKGROUND/EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

  • Must have at minimum an Associate Degree.
  • Experience in event planning and fundraising special events a plus.
  • Must have good writing and editing skills.
  • Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and an ability to focus on details.
  • Must accept supervision.
  • Must be computer literate and have proficient skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with fundraising software is a plus.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently on multiple projects under precise timelines.
  • Must have a valid New Jersey driver’s license and an available motor vehicle.
