Osteoporosis Preventive Education
Project Healthy Bones
Osteoporosis is a serious problem in which bones become thin, brittle and easily broken. More than 25 million Americans over the age of 65 suffer from Osteoporosis and 80% are women. But there is GOOD news! Exercise, good nutrition and education can significantly decrease the risks of osteoporosis and prevent further deterioration of the bones in people who already have the disease.
Project Healthy Bones is designed to improve strength, balance and flexibility using exercises that target the body’s large muscle groups. The classes provide information on the importance of exercise, nutrition, safety, drug therapy and lifestyle factors as they relate to osteoporosis.
