55th Annual Spring Luncheon & Fashion Show Raises Funds for FCS
Long Branch, NJ, May 16, 2012 – Sporting designs by Eileen Fischer, Grace Chuang and Lilly Pulitzer, to name a few, models from the Navarumsunk Auxiliary of Family & Children’s Service (FCS) paraded through the ballroom of Branches in West Long Branch, Wednesday, May 9, modeling the latest spring fashions for more than 200 invited guest at the 55th Annual Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show. The always popular event raises funds to support FCS’s dozen programs and services, including intervention services for abused, neglected or exploited adults, home and respite care, and homeless prevention.
Luncheon co-chairs Pam Tanis of Holmdel and Elizabeth Moody Schmalz Ferguson of Colts Neck spent months organizing this year’s event, which included a fashion boutique, 50/50 raffle and a chance auction with dozens of personal beauty, spa and home decor gift baskets. Always a highlight of the afternoon, the fashion show featured a collection of the latest spring jackets, purses, scarves and accessories from Le Papillion boutique in Rumson, each one selected to complement the basic black, white or ivory wardrobe.
Founded in 1957, the Navarumsunk Auxiliary of FCS adopted its name from the Native American tribe that inhabited the Rumson Fair Haven peninsula. Since then, the group has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for FCS through the auxiliary’s annual luncheon and benefit bridge tournament which takes place each September. The auxiliary is always looking for new members and the luncheon is a great way to get acquainted with the organization and its dedicated volunteers.
