long Branch, NJ, August 15, 2012 –Family Children’s Service (FCS), Monmouth County’s oldest non-profit social service agency, and its 2012 Gala Committee invite friends, family and supporters to join them Saturday, October 13 at Navesink Country Club for the agency’s 2012 fall Gala, “Enchantment of the Far East” as they honor FCS’s longstanding community partner, Dr. Frank J. Vozos, Executive Director of Monmouth Medical Center (MMC) and MMC, as well as longtime supporters Michael and Nancy DelPriore and former FCS Board President and 55-year volunteer Betty Ann Ryan, in memoriam.
“For more than 103 years, Family & Children’s Service has provided a lifeline for thousands of individuals and families in our community who desperately need assistance, but have nowhere else to turn,” says FCS President & CEO Vincent L. D’Elia. “This past year, we provided education, intervention, care and counseling to more than 18,000 Monmouth County residents in need. We look forward to celebrating our achievements and paying tribute to our 2012 honorees whose contributions to FCS have been an essential and invaluable part of our success.”
The 2012 FCS Gala committee, led by Co-chairs Jill Gemmel of Middletown and Ursula Atkinson of Little Silver, has planned a festive evening of cocktails, dinner, dancing, raffle and auctions all centered on an Asian theme. Entertainment will be provided by the popular band, New Life Crisis. Rumson floral designer and event planner Jayni DiMisa will be designing the Asian-themed table centerpieces and whimsical décor. And Chef John Murphy of Navesink Country Club will be creating a menu of authentic Asian fare. The auction portion of the evening will feature hundreds of donated luxury items, including original oil paintings, fine jewelry, catered dinner parties, tickets to professional sporting and entertainment events and lavish vacations to Cancun, Mexico, Vail, Colorado and Vermont, among others.
“‘Enchantment of the Far East’ promises be a very special evening; one filled with elegance, surprise and lots of good fortune,” Gemmel says. “We hope everyone will join us in celebrating FCS, an organization so near and dear to our hearts.”
For those who cannot attend, Gemmel says there are still a variety of ways to support the Gala and the agency, including underwriting opportunities, auction donations, raffle ticket purchases, and Ad Journal sponsorships.
