FCS’ Kicks-off the 2012 Gala Planning Season

“Enchantment of the Far East” to be held October 13, at Navesink County Club

Monmouth Medical Center Executive Director Frank J Vozos, M.D and MMC,
Nancy & Michael DelPriore and Betty Ann Ryan to be honored

Long Branch, NJ, April 11, 2012– The formal dining room of the Navesink Country Club was transformed into an Asian-themed tea house on Tuesday, April 3rd, complete with bouquets of cherry blossoms and dishes of Dim Sum, as the Family & Children Service’s (FCS) 2012 Gala Committee officially kicked-off plans for the agency’s October 13th fundraising spectacular “Enchantment of the Far East” and formally introduced this year’s Gala honorees. FCS Director of Development Diane Gribbin announced that the agency will recognize several people and one organization for their outstanding contributions to FCS, including Frank J Vozos, M.D, Executive Director of Monmouth Medical Center, Monmouth Medical Center (MMC), Rumson philanthropists Nancy & Michael DelPriore and former FCS Board President and longtime volunteer, Betty Ann Ryan.

The breakfast event, sponsored by the law firm of Atkinson & DeBartolo, PC, provided committee members and their invited guests a welcome opportunity to preview some of what’s in store for this year’s gala, and to learn more about FCS, Monmouth County’s oldest nonprofit social service agency. Sampling homemade steamed dumplings and sipping green tea, guests listened attentively as gala co-chairs, Jill Gemmel of Rumson and Ursula Atkinson of Little Silver, described some of the exciting activities planned for the Gala, including an Asain themed menu, live and silent auctions, 50/50 raffle and entertainment by the band, New Life Crisis.

As the largest fundraiser of the year, FCS President & CEO Vince D’Elia reminded guests that the money raised through the Gala helps support vital programs and services for some 18,000 vulnerable clients throughout Monmouth County, including homeless prevention, caregiver services, child literacy and adult protective services.

To receive an invitation to Enchantment of the Far East, or to learn more about underwriting and sponsorship opportunities, please contact Diane Gribbin by phone at 732-22-9111 ext. 134 or email at
