JUDY STACH PAINTS "BLUE DANUBE" FOR THE BENEFIT OF OTHERS

Local artist's original oil to be auctioned at annual fundraising Gala

When local artist Judy Stach found a photograph she took during a trip to Hungary of the iconic Chain Bridge over the River Danube, she knew it would be the perfect subject for the artwork she intended to create for Family & Children's Service's annual fundraising Gala, Blue Danube. Judy used the photo of the bridge to inspire the beautiful, impressionistic painting that she unveiled today at the Navesink Country Club in Middletown, NJ. Her "Blue Danube" is not only a fabulous addition to her volume of critically-acclaimed work. It will also benefit dozens of people in need in our community.  Learn More

FCS SELECTED TO CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM (RSVP) FOR MONMOUTH COUNTY.

CEO Delly Beekman speaks about the program on television in advance of National Volunteer Month.

FCS recently received a $95,000 grant from the Corporation of National and Community Service (CNCS) to continue its support of senior volunteer activities in Monmouth County. The funds were awarded as part of a competitive grant process for RSVP (Retired & Seniors Volunteer Program), one of three Senior Corps programs administered by CNCS. Established in 1971, RSVP engages older Americans in volunteer opportunities across the country. The grant will enable an estimated 335 senior volunteers to serve in programs throughout Monmouth County, including our own Healthy Buddies and Reading Buddies programs.

In a recent interview with Comcast Newsmarkers, CEO Delly Beekman said “This grant will provide opportunities for our seniors to utilize the skills and wisdom earned from a lifetime of experience to benefit the Monmouth County community.” See more of Delly's interview here.
